NEW ZINE! TOTP: A Zombie Whodunnit 🧟‍♂️🔎

Pre-order for an extra gift

Did Landfill Indie do the deed with pint pot in the Hawley Arms?

Or was Crazy Frog the killer calling from inside your phone?

These are two of the questions posed by my new zine, ‘Top of the Pops: A Zombie Whodunnit’, which investigates the slow mid-00s demise of Britain’s long-running chart music show.

The zine is available for pre-order now and is due to ship at the end of July.

Each cover is hand-finished with zombie stickers – making each and every copy completely unique! No two covers will have exactly the same stickers.

THE CONTENTS

Theorising that TOTP became a zombie somewhere between 2000 and 2006, ‘Top of the Pops: A Zombie Whodunnit’ asks difficult questions about the show’s final ‘walking dead years’.

Why did so many resuscitation attempts ultimately fail in this era? And why did so many noughties pop stars grow up to be foot soldiers on the wrong side of the culture wars?

In a Cluedo-style finale, the zine proposes a chart countdown of suspected killers and speculates on when and where they delivered the final zombie bite.

Was it Ronan Keating wielding a tall stool in the Star Bar?

Or was it Simon Cowell in the ITV control room?

Do you want answers to these questions? Or do you simply want a break from the soul-crushing dystopian horror or the 2020s? Hop in the time machine. We’re taking a short trip to a very different time.
